Weekend #13 of 52 (3/25 – 3/28/2021) for 2021 Picks By Streaming Service
The last weekend of the month is not without new movies and TV shows coming out. Notably, Bad Trip, which tried to make an appearance in theaters, but another movie sidelined by the pandemic.
And then it was accidentally released by Amazon Prime Video on April 17, 2020. It got taken down, but not before pirates copied it and released on illegal back channels. Then it sold to Netflix and fast forward to March 26, when it will make it’s first official, non-accidental release.
If you’re thinking, wow, what a bad trip, that title works on many levels. I don’t know how good the movie will be, but have to check it out for the bizarre release history alone.

Peacock is throwing their free subscribers a bone in December, sharing an original movie every week that is currently available for premium subscribers only.
Peacock’s free tier lets users stream certain episodes with no subscription cost, but most full seasons require Peacock Premium. But this month, the streamer is giving free access to a new Original series every week. Peacock’s weekly “Freeview” begins December 10 with critically acclaimed conspiracy thriller, The Capture, a BBC original.
Brave New World has been on my watchlist for some time. I keep saying I’m going to start watching it, but keep getting pulled in a different direction.

Weekend #49 of 53 (12/3 – 12/6/2020) for 2020 Picks By Streaming Service
First of the month license roulette! Movies moving around from one service to another, some movies going out of rotation to archival digital lockers only to be available for purchase, others coming back from the archives, others perhaps leaving access altogether.
It’s the last part that gives us the greatest pause. What happens when movies you want to see disappear and there are no streaming channels or live TV to find them? If you already have a digital copy of those, great, otherwise it’s the waiting game hoping they might return or heading off to buy somebody’s old copy online (eBay!).
Make your watchlist, check it more than twice, and try to find out which service is naughty (let it go for good) and nice (has it available to watch).

Not recommended, except if you truly want to see how incredibly awful it is: Cats will be available Oct 10 on HBO Max. They should have offered a director’s cut, something to see if they could improve this abomination.
