The Rare Atari 2600 Superman Game Worth Thousands of Dollars and Atari Hotel opening in 2022

An Atari 2600 Superman cartridge worth thousands of dollars? Sure, why not. Think I vaguely remember playing it when it came out.

….Atari’s Superman can be worth anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000. Don’t run out the door just yet. There are multiple variants of this particular game cartridge, and only one fetches the big money. If you have access to the standard cartridge with the red lettering, then chances are that your copy is only worth a couple of hundred dollars at most. The rarest variant of Superman is the Sears Telegames cartridge with yellow lettering and a picture of Superman. Very few of these copies were released on the market — making them incredibly rare. If you come across one or have one in pristine condition, then you could be looking at a small fortune.

The superhero Atari 2600 game that’s extremely rare

We’ve never owned the rare version spoken about above, but did own the red lettering copy of it. I mean, it was Superman. I would have wanted that in those days. We do own several classic gaming systems, but not the Atari 2600 any longer. We have a working Atari 5200 that plays all 2600 games, however.

Speaking of Atari, they are building some very innovative looking hotels. One of them will be in Las Vegas and another in Phoenix, Arizona. Check these out, if the rent isn’t too high, this could be a fun place to visit.

The proposed details for Atari Hotels sound inviting:

Atari Hotels perfectly blends the past, present, and future of video games and entertainment for a destination that offers guests a one-of-a-kind hospitality experience, complete with state-of-the-art amenities for esports fans and content creators. Guests can enjoy the latest in video games, experience cutting-edge immersive entertainment, purchase exclusive Atari Hotels merchandise, and play the night away in retro-style gaming arcades. A speakeasy and fully equipped nightclub will be available for adult guests, as well as themed restaurants and bars. Atari Hotels delightfully plays with the themes of retro-futurism, pop culture, and nostalgia — offering fun for the whole family.

Are they using a Back To The Future Delorean as part of their teaser logo? Sure looks like it. Wonder if there might be some kind of 80s vibe mixed in with these hotels.

No announcement on what a night staying in these hotels will cost, but the current goal is to open at the end of 2022, just in time for Avatar to screen. Imagine if Atari Hotels has some kind of theater built-in? Will keep watching how this project develops and if it isn’t too expensive, we’d like to stay there someday.
