Love Is Blind Participant Has Business Meeting Misconstrued – Why Reality TV Distorts Privacy Expectations

Love Is Blind ⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Having to explain the purpose of innocent business meetings to non gossip rags is something that makes many people dislike the paparazzi. This also shades reality TV celebrities, that last word being somewhat cringe-worthy. Real people being real have little reason under most circumstances to attract the paparazzi. They should not be celebs, nor treated like them — and yet if they starred on a hit TV show, they will be.

Case in point: one of the participants in the Netflix TV series Love Is Blind, Damian Powers is having to explain his business meeting that was portrayed as a possible tryst with a reality TV contestant from another Netflix show, Too Hot To Handle ⭐️½  (demonstrates what most people dislike about the genre).

“We all planned to leave the Eveleigh together in the same car. Francesca, Alex, Mitchell and Raiane all exited through a side entrance, while I exited through the main entrance of the Eveleigh,” he continues. “Upon exiting the Eveleigh, we were all greeted by paparazzi. Francesca grabbed on to me in an attempt to shield herself from the paparazzi as our entire group entered the car. Francesca and I are not dating or romantically involved but remain friends.”

The one interesting part of this is finding out what Damian and Gi are currently up to. They are still a couple some two years since filming the show which saw Gi and he very rocky relationship.

This is the problem with following reality TV shows, you end up being sucked into stuff that is outside the show. There are too many great movies and TV shows to spend time watching and reviewing that we shouldn’t be distracted by reality TV contestant drama outside the film or TV series. Or, rather, in this case, the lack thereof. Fake news, I guess this would be called in 2020.

Gi was part of a short-lived podcast, Love In Sight (see: Companion Podcasts as Extras to Original Shows are Good Marketing and Fan Service), that I enjoyed hearing about the behind the scenes production of the show. That is different than this nonsense going on with her on show and real life boyfriend, Damian.

Perhaps this serves as a good warning to those who would want to sign up to be on a reality show that it has the potential to go far beyond the show, at least from a privacy standpoint. This is actually what some people want by getting involved. They want to milk 15 minutes of fame. That doesn’t appear to be the case here, but who knows, maybe this was leaked out somehow and is actually a publicity stunt.
