Episode 9 – “A Seat At The Table”

With Harley now in the Legion of Doom (LOD), we follow last episode’s cliffhanger of spotting the Joker at the end of the table, suggesting he might have been pulling some puppet strings to get Harley into the LOD, but does he?

Joker saying something nice about Harley … but does he really mean it? (No!)

After a somewhat lame PSA by Lex Luthor made to look like a bad TV commercial, Joker takes over the microphone to welcome Harley into LOD.

After that, Harley meets with Poison Ivy to apologize for the fight they had in episode 8. Harley wants to help Ivy with her next scheme, taking down Planetside Paving.

Ivy and Harley making up and hatching a diabolical scheme together

Joker wants to build a tower with his face on it and Harley with a seat at the table is against the idea. So, the clown prince of manipulation offers her a drink to discuss his plans and gain her favor.

Is Harley going to fall for the Joker’s BS again?

Meanwhile, Harley’s crew is being relegated to the lower level of doom, where nothing works and the lower level goons and henchmen hangout. They are bummed out because they thought they’d be equals “since we have powers!” and Bane tries to “hire” them to help with his plan.

Ivy meets the stoner guy who carries around Frank

A stoner guy carries Frank The Plant around so he can eat people and help Ivy with the plan. Ivy believes Harley will show up, but does she? Watch the episode to find out what happens on the Joker and Harley’s business meeting (does it turn into a romantic date?), the outcome of Bane’s mission with Harley’s crew and how Ivy’s mission turns out.

This is one of the least funniest episodes in the season to date and delves almost into soap opera territory. with the whole Joker + Ivy + Harley’s crew all wanting Harley’s attention and time. My favorite part of the episode is Frank the plant with the stoner guy who carries his “pot” — that alone earns a recommendation. The episode ending is a bit too predictable, unfortunately.
