Points for the creative title.
Magnolia Pictures dropped Buffaloed starring Zoey Deutch into a Valentine’s Day February 2020 wide release schedule after being acquired at the end of December.
It isn’t featured in our COMING TO THEATERS in February 2020 post, so consider this a bonus drop-in. As of this writing, it’s not showing at Rotten Tomatoes. Is this only going to be available in Magnolia Landmark Theaters? Hmm, don’t know. If anybody reading does, please let me know in the comments or on Twitter.
As indicated in the coming soon area, these posts are updated as studios add, change and remove release dates. Seems to happen less than 60 days before the release date, which might mean the deal required this or the studio is just anxious to release it. According to the Wikipedia page, this movie screened back in April 2019 at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Enough shop talk, what’s the movie about?
Random trailer thoughts: set in Buffalo, NY, Zoey’s character is a hustler. She ends up in the joint for at least some of the film(?), only to get out and try out some more sales-related schemes? Clearly a comedy.
This one looks funnier than Like A Boss coming out this week and Zoey Deutch was also in Zombieland: Doubletap ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I hope this opens in theaters near us next month and isn’t only a Landmark theater “wide” distribution. Am a bit concerned with why it isn’t showing at Rotten Tomatoes. Movies like that haven’t screened anywhere near us…
Buffaloed opens in theaters February 14, 2020.
