TV SERIES Review: Harley Quinn S1E4 Finding Mr. Right ⭐️⭐️⭐️½

Episode 4 “Finding Mr. Right”

The edgy criminal queen of fast talking, sarcastic quips, Harley Quinn, is looking for who could be her nemesis. Joker has Batman, Superman has Lex Luthor, so who can she have? It seems whatever Harley does, she’s being upstaged by her ex-boyfriend Joker. Harley steals the batmobile by hacking his bat voice. Only to have Batman’s sidekick, Robin show up. Will Robin be Harley’s nemesis?

“I definitely make love to … bats!” — it’s crazy lines like this which make this adult animated series standout. This is not some kiddie cartoon, the language and subject matter is very not, not, not family friendly. DC is positioning themselves to be the choice for adult animated superheroes.

There is a nice $7.99/month meta gag as well (making fun of their own streaming pricing is like fourth wall comedy stuff — smart humor) as Tawny, who plays a talk show host (creative use of incoporating that into the show). Poison Ivy, Harley’s green BFF is not as active in this episode as others, but she’s there to make us laugh with her signature deadpan delivery. We get to see Sharkman (lol, I just kept thinking Sharkanado).

Have seen all the episodes so far and will get reviews up of the first three episodes over the next month or so, just wanted to get the newest episode released today posted today, so we’ll be starting a schedule of reviews for this show on a certain day.

The writing is slick and the stories are funny. The jokes come fast and furious, so definite rewatch value. Definitely recommended.

Overall episode rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½
